Meet our Team:

Meet Our Team : Paul Manley

Position : K9 Handler, Equipment Manager

K9(s) : Nitro

I became involved in volunteer service 46 years ago as a Fire Fighter in Baltimore County at the young age of 16. After a 10 year enlistment in the army and a tour in vietnam 1968/1969, I again resumed volunteering. I along with my wife Patsy became neonatal technicians with the MIEMSS. Then it was back to Baltimore County as a Fire Fighter / Paramedic, and 6 years with Baltimore City as a Paramedic. My second interest for many years has four legs and a long tail. While in the military I worked as a K9 handler with a security company for three years and for two years after the military. My wife and I joined a group training in the sport of Schutzhund, our trainer was Mr. Jon Collins. My dog's name was Mokie, a German Shepherd, she was also trained in personal protection as well as cadaver. In 1999 was when I met and joined one of the most dedicated groups of people I have ever known, the members of Mason-Dixon Rescue Dogs. In the past 8 years I trained in wilderness air scent search and rescue, for the past year Nitro, my very best friend a 9 year German Shepherd, and I have been training with other handlers in Human Remains Detection as well as managing the agility training center. What am I looking forward to in the upcoming year, to remain a member of this fine group, train with my best friend Nitro and serve with pride those people who call upon us for help and closure in their time of need.
